How To Become a Better Investor

A $30,000 profit on a short sale deal. A $10,000 profit on a subject-to deal. With a little help, savvy real estate investors are making great deals today.

Aren't those figures pretty incredible? Hey, don't worry about that stuff. That's you in no time. Just focus on what you're doing and you'll be putting deals like that down before you know it.

Remember:

  • By the inch it's a cinch, by the yard it's hard.
  • What you reward is what you get.
  • Success becomes automatic with enough rewards.

It's a Cinch

Remember the speech Al Pacino gave in Any Given Sunday? It's notoriously known as "Inch by Inch."

"I don't know what to say really. Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives all comes down to today. Either we heal as a team or we are going to crumble. Inch by inch, play by play till we're finished."

That's what it takes to succeed.

Not by grabbing for yards at a time, but by being sure to make it inch by inch. Fight for each inch if that's what it takes. But a daily regiment of phone calls and property inquiries are the inches you need to get ahead in real estate investing. Having milestones is great! It's necessary.

But, knowing the baby steps helps you keep on track to becoming a successful real estate investor.

Your Reward

Wins don't have to come in terms of major profits on a huge real estate deal.

Of course, that's a win! But, you can win simply by getting a positive response from a seller.

That's a major thing for a first deal.

Actually getting the ball rolling on a deal and being able to move forward is a reason to celebrate. Celebrate often whenever you make something positive happen in a deal. If you have obstacles standing in your way of making a great deal, celebrate every time you overcome one.

It's like applying Pavlov's Theory to yourself.

In Pavlov's Theory, dogs salivate when they hear a dinner bell. The theory begins with placing food in the dog bowl and then ringing the dinner bell. The dog soon learns that the dinner bell means there is a food in its bowl.

Then, the theory takes on a new dimension.

Automatic Success

You can ring a dinner bell any time you want and the dog will salivate automatically without food even being present. That's an automatic reaction to a learned condition. When you reward yourself every time you experience the least little bit of success, it will start coming to you automatically.

You will act like a winner automatically.

You will do what needs to be done to make great real estate deals automatically.

Success in real estate investing isn't hard. You can get on top in no time just by paying attention and knowing what you're doing. Take it inch by inch. Reward yourself as much as possible.

And look forward to success that comes virtually automatically. No more help required.
