Even though Jay Abraham wrote his book years ago at the turn of the century, he understood a basic premise that real estate investors should embrace. The internet is the information superhighway and people want information. When you are trying to be a savvy real estate investor, you want to put yourself in your potential home buyer's shoes. Writing a blog isn't a bad idea. But you have to do it right or you won't be accomplishing anything at all.

Include Actual Prices

When you are looking for something, doesn't it help to know what the price is going to be? It always does for me. If I'm looking for a lawyer, I like to know what they are going to charge. If I need some wood, I'd love to know how much it is going to cost me.

But, there are times when you can't get the price. Lawyers don't like to put hourly schedules on their websites and they definitely don't like listing flat rates for their services. They want people to call them and talk about their cases so they can schmooze their clients into hiring them for their services. A listing of hourly schedules or flat rates might drive potential clients away.

Likewise, calling around for wood prices also serves as a great waste of time. Most lumber yards might give you a "Right Then, Right Now" price, but they won't let you bind them to that price. Prices change in the lumber business and most of the time you can only get a price if you are buying "Right Then, Right There." So, good luck finding listings on a lumber yard website even if you are only trying to get a good idea how much that new deck is going to cost you.

But, you are a real estate investor. Lawyers have their reasons, lumber yards have theirs. Knowing that your potential buyers are going to be looking for exact information, you should want to fulfill that need. Buyers don't want to come hundreds of miles and end up being frustrated by the market. Put actual prices on your real estate blog so they can check out the real estate market from the comfort of their own home before making the trip. You'll be the one to get the call because you are forthcoming.

Of course, while you're being forthcoming place some photos on your real estate blog as well. Don't be shy. Make them very clear and don't try to deceive.

In fact, the best thing you can do for yourself is to invest in a digital camera and take several pictures of all your properties. Give your potential buyers a good chance to see what you have to offer. Don't be afraid to roll up your sleeves and do a little cleaning. Upload floor plans, inside pictures, outside pictures and a map of the city to be helpful. Let them know exactly where the house sits in relation to other sites in town. Now that's being helpful.

Connect with the Big Guys

You can gain great success off of the hard work of others. A popular website can help you gain traffic to yours. Find a trusted site where you can list all of your properties. Upload photos and list features. Make sure to list your prices.
